My Jeans Finally Fit!
March is Women’s History Month. In honor of all of my beautiful sisters out there who are struggling with body image issues, I wanted to do a follow-up on my previous post, Brownies, Slim Fast, and Water Challenges: My Battle With a Negative Body Image By @NowWithNicole. In that piece, I discussed a lifelong battle with eating disorders and a negative body image. I addressed the many obstacles I faced as a child, teen, and an adult with coming to love and accept me for who I was. I also discussed finally coming to terms with and embracing my natural size.
Ever since making this decision it has made a world of difference in both my confidence and appearance. It really is true that when you look good on the outside, it puts a little added spice to the fabulous you that is on the inside. That is why I encourage all of my sisters to love you, embrace you, and lead a healthy lifestyle that is not based upon another person’s views. The only downside to my new revelation is that there are so many other women who are also my size that it has become harder to find clothes that fit. That’s a better problem to have than the former.
The following are a few pictures of me and my jeans that actually fit. Some of them are even skinny jeans that properly surround my stomach and do not show any butt crack.
Do you have body image issues that cause you to make unhealthy choices all in the name of quieting the outside critics or the voices in your head? Please share your story in the comments.
In honor of Women’s History Month, let’s make history by changing that story.
